May ‘25 - Jam Jar goes international!

How a Jellyfish Saved the World - Warsaw

In 2025, Clyde the jellyfish made his first debut overseas rather than underseas with The English Theater Company of Poland!

The programming director watches approximately 80-90(!) shows at Edinburgh Fringe, selecting the best 4 that will be invited to perform for Warsaw's school audiences in the following season. We feel honoured to have been chosen to share our story in its first international venue, and to represent a shared mission: to inspire young people to fall in love with the art of theatre from an early age, as well as supporting English language education through exposure to native speech.

“We envision a Warsaw where education is not just about learning but about emotional and exploratory experiences. Young people learn through interactive moments that ignite curiosity, foster empathy, and shape their skills. Schools and cultural institutions create a modern and innovative environment that brings education into the 22nd century.”

We made an overwhelming amount of new friends in Warsaw, with some of the biggest and most supportive audiences we’ve ever had, from schools all across the capital! To have hundreds of both Polish and English speaking young people be so invested in the story’s themes around conservation and being true to who you are, speaks volumes about the positive worldwide impact a new generation of caring innovators will have.

Dziękuję!

August ‘25 - Jam Jar joins a new festival!

How a Jellyfish Saved the World - The Arts Theatre Cambridge

On our return to the UK, we were very excited to jump straight into the Arts Theatre Cambridge’s Pop-Up Adventures family festival - a fabulous choice of children’s shows at The Atrium - Chesterton Community College and Arbury Community Centre.

Although Clyde may be retiring this year, his song(s) live on, in the hearts and actions of our audiences.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to see 🪼 How a Jellyfish Saved the World! 🌍

Clyde has had such an exciting and busy year! From an Arts Council funded R&D, to selling out at Edinburgh Fringe, to a UK tour, a trip to Poland - and finally today, his last shows in Cambridge.

Thank you to all of our cast & creative partners, the friends who have supported us, the venues that have hosted us, the front of house and technical crews who welcomed us - and most of all, all of those who came to watch us, Clyde feels very lucky to have SO many friends.

Our story may be over for now, but the adventure continues… Keep doing what you can to help keep our oceans clean and you too can save the world!

Follow @jam_jar_theatre_company to be the first to know about our future shows.

Until we swim again…

Penguins Archive

Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough!

While touring Penguins, we collected hundreds of postcards from young (and not-so-young!) audience members, who wanted to write and draw messages, thoughts, ideas, and facts to pop in our Penguin Postboxes in response to the show. As always, we were hugely impressed by the breadth of knowledge and empathy around global issues, and heartened by the innovative ideas and optimism possessed by the generation inheriting them.

In our story, Noah and Issy idolise Sir David Attenborough for his incredible devotion to animals, his work as a writer, broadcaster, naturalist, and inspirational ambassador for many global conservation schemes. They want to grow up to be just like him, protecting, educating, exploring, respecting, helping to raise environmental awareness for the world’s future before it’s too late.

In celebration of his 100th birthday (one or two postcards were a little liberal with the zeros…) we have created an archive of these wonderful penguin postcards, from the wise and wishful to the wacky and waddling.

Browse the collection below to find awesome penguin sketches, heartfelt messages, fun facts and a few super-fan teachers too!
